Sinhala Script - Consonants

As mentioned in the introduction to the pronunciation section, consonants (with no altering stroke) always contain a vowel sound. This may be one of two sounds: either a or ~ (J.B. Disanayaka, 1993). If the consonant is at the beginning of a word then we use the a sound elsewhere we use the ~ sound.
